AccessLex Diversity Pipeline Program
Native American Pipeline to Law Initiative
We propose a Native American Pipeline to Law Initiative, which will respond to the pipeline
recommendations presented by both the Access Group and the NNABA study. The comprehensive 2 year proposal contains a prelaw program, with financial resources for LSAT preparation, a multilevel mentorship program, and early outreach to students in middle school and high school.
With strong partners including NNABA, the NABA of Arizona, the ASU Native American Law Students Association (NALSA), and ILP Alumni, the Indian Legal Program (ILP) at the Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law is ideally situated to implement this Initiative and evaluate its impact. The ILP has successfully recruited, mentored, and graduated over 250 students in the past 26 years, and is currently home to thirty Native American law students and three Native American law professors.
