UHLC Pre-Law Pipeline Programs
UHLC Pre-Law Pipeline Program is designed to increase the diversity of law school applicants by providing law school preparatory resources – LSAT preparation, introductory law school classes, internships, and professional development sessions – for undergraduate students who are first generation, low income, or members of groups underrepresented in the legal profession. Currently the UHLC Pre-Law Pipeline Programs offers four study tracks: Scholar I, Scholar II, UH Cougar Law Program (for select current students and recent graduates of the University of Houston only), and Working Professionals Program. Pipeline Programs alums have been accepted to a number of law schools including: Brooklyn Law School, George Washington University Law School, Howard University School of Law, Oklahoma City University Law School, University of Houston Law Center, University of Miami School of Law, University of Oklahoma College of Law, UC Berkeley School of Law, and University of Chicago Law School. Additionally, the UHLC Pre-Law Pipeline Programs offers a host of professional development workshops geared towards preparing its students for networking and internship opportunities and to improve overall the caliber of the student's academic career. Included in these workshops are speaker sessions with members of the legal community, introductory legal research methods, and effective study and networking techniques.
