The ABA Annual Meeting kicks off this week in San Francisco. Having attended this event many times, I can say without a doubt that the highlight of my trip each year is spending time with the students and young lawyers who attend.
One of the ways I have connected most directly with these engaged students and professionals is by co-presenting one of my favorite AccessLex sessions: The Road to Zero: A Strategic Approach to Managing Student Loans and Repayment. This panel is co-sponsored by the ABA Section of Legal Education and Admissions to the Bar and the Law Student Division. This year, I’ll be joined by Montré Everett, Director of Financial Aid at UC Davis School of Law Office of Admissions and Financial Aid and Bob Buch, VP of Business Development and Partnership at SoFi. The session will be moderated by Zachary Faircloth, Editor-in-Chief for the SMU Law Review and candidate for Juris Doctor, May 2020, at SMU Dedman School of Law.
If you’ve made plans to attend the Annual Meeting, be sure to join us on Friday, August 9 at 11:00 am in the Yerba Buena Salons 11/12 (Lower B2 Level) in the Marriott Marquis San Francisco. You’ll take away important information to share with your students. And, if you’re a student or alum with student loans, you’ll learn how to make smart decisions about your borrowing—and leave with an action plan to repay your loans.
Don’t forget! AccessLex can also bring this kind of programming and materials to your students or school (free of charge). Simply reach out to us at EducationServices@accesslex.org.
