Financial Capability and Policy Day
Financial Capability and Policy Day
June 9, 2021
Agenda
Whether calculating financial aid, managing credit for character and fitness, or comparing job offers, law students have a wide array of financial tools and resources at their disposal — they just need to know where to look! Join a panel of law school administrators from around the country as they share their ‘go-to’ programs and resources for students.
With a new Congress and new Administration in place, policymakers are focused not only on COVID-specific policy changes, but also those that could impact higher education. Whether it’s through reauthorization of the Higher Education Act, another COVID bill, or some other legislative or executive action, change may be on the horizon. Learn what is happening on Capitol Hill and with the Biden Administration that could affect graduate student aid, what AccessLex Institute’s policy priorities are, and how you and your students can advocate for change.
The past few years have had a profound and far-reaching impact on all aspects of higher education, including law students’ financial behavior, capability and wellness. In this session, we will explore the latest takeaways from research and predict future financial trends for our law students — referencing the financial crisis of 2008 as well as the economic impact of COVID-19. We will close the session with a review of the recommendations and best practices from the U.S. Financial Literacy and Education Commission and discuss how the MAX by AccessLex® personal finance program can be leveraged to support your students during these unprecedented times.
AccessLex is excited to launch our new student success portal this summer. Join us for an update on this new initiative and an overview of why and how your students will benefit from this new hub.
Please note: The Summer Webinar Series is for pre-law advisors and/or law school administrators only. Students, please visit our student events page for webinar options.
