LexPostBacc is a 10-month law school preparation curriculum offered via distance learning by AccessLex Institute®. The curriculum will span July 2026 through May 2027. There are no costs associated with LexPostBacc.

Overview
As a Direct Scholar, you will complete lessons in first-year law school subjects: Contracts, Criminal Law, and Torts. You will also receive important law school skills training, such as case briefing, course outlining, legal writing, and financial budgeting. At various points, you will be required to demonstrate proficiency in specified topics and skills.
Direct Scholars who successfully complete the LexPostBacc curriculum will receive:
- A $500 award from AccessLex Institute® upon successful completion.
- A $7,000 stipend from AccessLex Institute® beginning with enrollment in an ABA-approved law school in fall 2026, spring 2027, or fall 2027 (paid in installments over the course of law school study).
- A Helix Bar Review by AccessLex® course, upon graduation

From July 2026 through May 2027, Direct Scholars will be exposed to a rigorous law school prep curriculum that will focus on building analytical and critical thinking skills as the foundations of competent legal analysis and writing. Scholars will also receive financial education. LexPostBacc Direct is offered at no cost to Scholars.

Admission Process Assistance
Direct Scholars who indicated on their application that they would like to receive a Kaplan LSAT prep course will receive course enrollment information after reserving their LexPostBacc slot. Scholars can also qualify to have their LSAT registration fee reimbursed, if they take the test in September 2026.
Direct Scholars will receive progress reports documenting their LexPostBacc performance. Scholars will be able to share these reports with law schools.
Direct Scholars who successfully complete the LexPostBacc curriculum will be able to request that a letter documenting their favorable performance be added to their LSAC Credential Assembly Service file via its Letter of Recommendation service.

Applicants interested in accepting the LexPostBacc Direct offer must sign the LexPostBacc Direct Participation Agreement by the stipulated deadline. Your Participation Agreement has been sent to you via email from DocuSign. Let us know if you cannot locate it. View a sample of the agreement.
