The Legal Writing Intervention Project at the UIC John Marshall Law School set to develop an intervention “toolkit” around providing supplemental writing support to law students in order to improve their skills necessary for bar passage. Fifty-eight students participated in the project and received individualized writing support, skills assessments, and coaching, among other types of guidance. When bar passage data from the 58 students are received, the school will use those results to inform the Toolkit, which is still in progress. This Intervention Toolkit will consist of best practices aimed at increasing the odds of bar passage through customized writing skills interventions.
