Priority One: User Experience
AccessLex Institute is a nonprofit dedicated to improving access, affordability, and value in legal education – which is a broad remit, but one we embrace wholeheartedly. From aspiring law students, to those enrolled and seeking their legal education, law school administrators, academic and bar success professionals, bar exam studiers, and beyond, we are an organization for all stages in the legal education journey. With the scope of support we offer, and the wide range of tools and resources available, our website is a critical source of information and connection. Program updates, optimization, and content additions are a regular part of our website, and we recently took things one step further.
We exist for your success, so we’ve refreshed our website with you in mind. True to our nature, we took an empirical approach – bringing together testing, feedback, and web expertise – and made some changes across the site. To make our programs, initiatives, tools, and other resources clearer and more accessible, we focused on enhancements to navigation, user experience, branding, mobile functionality, and content descriptions. Our goal was to change the website in such a way that it feels even more familiar now – like an updated map that better matches the lay of the land. Read more to learn how we’ve accomplished that.
Explore with Enhanced Navigation
As the nonprofit leader in legal education, our organization’s scope is large and always growing. We realize, however, that too many hay bales can make a maze. To help users find what they’re looking for – and discover new resources intentionally – we’ve updated the way you navigate our site. The top-level links on each page provide a quick survey of our different areas of involvement. Then, you can dive in deeper with pull-down navigation that now provides helpful content descriptions. This is a great way to get a sample of additional useful resources. Focus areas with accompanying overviews will also help users access resources more efficiently.
Defined User Journey
While it’s all connected, every aspect of legal education is unique. Whether you’re an aspiring law student, a current law student, or a law school administrator, AccessLex has something for you specifically. We’ve created audience groupings and tailored the content and selected pages so you, your students, or your friends and colleagues, can hit the ground running. We’re also prominently displaying our most used resources to make it easy to start or return to the tools you find most valuable.
Branding and Banners
The evolution of our website’s look and feel is in line with our future-oriented mentality – empowering the next generation of lawyers and doing big things throughout the decades to come. Updated with an emphasis on vibrancy and clarity, our branding matches our mentality: thoughtful optimism. We’ve also integrated links in our webpage banners and added a feature banner so you can stay up to date on legal education opportunities, resource highlights, and Company news and events.
More Mobile-Friendly
Our goal is to be available however we can, so we’ve reconfigured mobile display and navigation to make scrolling, swiping, saving, and typing just as easy on a mobile device as at your desk. With easier access to all aspects of the site, you can find what you need wherever you are.
"We are excited to introduce our revamped website, AccessLex.org. This enhanced online presence aligns with our commitment to provide easy access to free online resources for purpose-driven students and all those who support them on their path to becoming legal professionals. The website features a fresh look, user-friendly navigation, an enhanced mobile version, and informative content to help visitors understand our products, services, and mission."
