We offer the following on-campus and online workshops for your students:

  • Choosing a Law School
Congratulations, you’ve decided to go to law school! Now it’s time to think about where to go. This session will guide you through a list of factors to consider—a school’s bar passage rate, job placement rate, starting salaries, and scholarship opportunities—as you narrow down your list of schools and determine the ones that meet your needs. We will discuss where to access data on law school costs, employment outcomes, and academic fit. And, we’ll walk you through two AccessLex Institute tools that can help you take a data-based approach to finding the law schools that offer what you want and need in your law school experience.

  • Applying to Law School
The law school admission process can seem overwhelming, but it doesn’t have to be. Once you’ve identified your target schools, being strategic and thoughtful in applying is the best way to increase your chances of receiving an acceptance letter. In this session, we’ll review the admissions landscape and the essential components of a successful law school application, including law school selection and the importance of timing.

  • Applying to Law School: A Strategic Approach for Underrepresented Students
The law school admission process can seem overwhelming, but it doesn’t have to be. Once you’ve identified your target schools, being strategic and thoughtful in applying is the best way to increase your chances of receiving an acceptance letter. In this session, we’ll review the admissions landscape and the essential components of a successful law school application, including law school selection and the importance of timing. We’ll also share tips and strategies that can be utilized by historically underrepresented students to navigate the law school application process.

  • Paying for Law School
Paying for law school is often the top concern for aspiring law students. Thankfully, a little knowledge about the financial aid process and funding strategies will go a long way in lowering your stress as you make your way through your legal education. In this session, we’ll discuss cost of attendance, the financial aid application process, and the types of aid available to law students. In addition, you’ll learn about student loans and how to compare financial aid offers so you can determine your estimated out-of-pocket expenses associated with each school you’re considering.

  • Building Your Law School Budget
When it comes to your law school budget, the most important step for saving more is borrowing less. But financial growth during and after law school also means managing credit, understanding loan repayment options, tracking debt, and planning for future expenses like the bar exam. In this session, you’ll walk through each of these items and also gain access to AccessLex Institute’s student loan repayment calculator to crunch your own numbers!

We also offer monthly webinars on these and other topics related to law school financing that you can share with your students. Whether on-campus or online, all are a free service of AccessLex. Please visit our Student Events page to learn more, or to register.
