ACCTLA Diversity Scholarship

This scholarship will be given to at least one second- or third-year law student who brings diverse perspective and is interested in practicing in the areas of plaintiff’s litigation, criminal defense or family law in Alameda and/or Contra Costa counties.

Eligibility Requirements:

Must show a commitment to serving the Alameda or Contra Costa County communities.

Current 2L or 3L student.

Award Description:

Interested applicants should send a resume, one letter of reference, and an essay (no more than 4 double-spaced pages in Times New Roman 12 pt font) explaining why you want to practice in plaintiff’s litigation, family law or criminal defense. The essay should include information describing how your background and/or experiences would help us meet our goal of increasing diversity in these practice areas. Moreover, the essay should illustrate your commitment to serving low income, underprivileged or traditionally underrepresented communities, and explaining how the scholarship will help you achieve your goals.
