The Judge Albert W. Thompson, Sr., Scholarship

The Judge Albert W. Thompson, Sr. Scholarship is offered for up to two students with high character, a commitment to community service, a connection to Georgia who are entering or are currently enrolled in law school. Students committed to practicing nonprofit law or another type of public service law are encouraged to apply.

Eligibility Requirements:

Enrolled in either college or law school during the academic year surrounding the scholarship deadline and be planning to enroll in law school during the academic year following the deadline. 

Have a connection to the state of Georgia. Preference will be given to applications with a connection to the Chattahoochee Judicial Circuit: Chattahoochee, Harris, Marion, Muscogee, Talbot and Taylor counties

U.S. citizen at time of application

Not be an immediate family member of the Scholarship Committee or any employee or board member of the Community Foundation of the Chattahoochee Valley, Inc., or direct descendants of Judge Thompson

May not be offered this year - verify status with the scholarship provider 

Award Description:

The scholarship will be directly to the accredited law school of the student's choice and can be used to cover the cost of tuition, fees, housing, and/or books, up to the Cost of Attendance

Applicants must have a connection to the state of Georga, with preference given to applicants with a connection to the Chattahoochee Judicial Circuit: Chattahoochee, Harris, Marion, Talbot, and Taylor counties
