Will County Legal Opportunity Scholarship Program

The Will County Bar Association in collaboration with the Black Bar Association of Will County, Latino Bar Association of Will County, and Will County Women’s Bar Association is please to announce applications are currently being accepted for the Will County Legal Opportunity Scholarship Program. The purpose of this Program is to encourage diversity within the Will County legal community by awarding a scholarship to an incoming first- or second-year law student.

Some application deadlines have not yet been announced. In those cases, the dates posted are based on the scholarship provider’s most recent information. Please confirm each deadline via the provider’s website.

Eligibility Requirements:

Admitted to an ABA accredited law school as a 1L or 2L.

Maintain a 2.6 GPA

Plan to become licensed to practice law in IL, employed by a governmental entity, law firm, and/or sole practitioner in Will County and actively practice law within Will County.

Award Description:

1L recipient: $5,000/year for three years to assist in payment of law school tuition

2L recipient: $10,000 for their second-year tuition and $5,000 for the final year of law school to assist in payment of law school tuition

$1,000 toward bar prep course
TBD amount per year for up to three years to go toward student loan debt

Plan to be licensed to practice law in Illinois and employed and practicing law in Will County, IL
