Download PDF (2.84 MB)

AccessLex Institute’s summer edition of Raising the Bar is live, with a fresh batch of commentary and research articles that provide insight into the latest factors and trends affecting the bar exam and legal education.

The newest publication begins with distinguished commentary discussing the motivations and potential bar exam benefits of disbanding the law student grade curve as University of Detroit Mercy School of Law’s transitions to a criterion-referenced assessment (CRA) system for all courses beginning in the fall.

Our Research Spotlight offers articles addressing:

  • limitations on the reporting of bar exam results,
  • methods law schools use to decrease attrition and better serve students, and
  • a definition of “value” when evaluating law school and bar exam performance.

Also included is an article celebrating the 10th anniversary of the Association of Academic Support Educators (AASE) and the organization’s on-going work dedicated to supporting the professional development of academic success educators.

And as always, learn about bar exam-related events, publications, posts, and resources!
