Identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, or otherwise self-identify as a part of the queer community

Demonstrated interest and intent to practice in the plaintiff’s bar

Other criteria that will be considered include financial need, academic achievements, extracurricular and community activities, and life experiences

Residency in Massachusetts or Rhode Island and/or a strong commitment to reside in either state upon graduation

Vision of contributions to the profession and community after graduation

Demonstrated commitment to the community, relevant life experiences, resilience in overcoming obstacles, and proven leadership

Must be enrolled fill-time, or intending to enroll full-time, at an accredited college or university based in the U.S.

Must be “out” as a person who identifies as a member of the LGBTQ community

Student at any of the following schools who have completed their first year of law school and is currently enrolled for their second, third, or fourth year of law school.

• UC College of the Law, San Francisco
• University of San Francisco School of Law
• Santa Clara University School of Law
• University of California – Berkeley School of Law
• Stanford Law School
• Golden Gate University School of Law

Applicant is from an underrepresented population and background, which includes but is not limited to, American Indian or Alaskan Native, Asian, Black or African American, Native American or Other Pacific Islander, Hispanic or Latinx, and/or multiple of the aforementioned racial identities, or who identifies as LGBTQ+.

Registered to take a U.S. Bar exam in the summer following the deadline or first legal job does not start until fall after the deadline (or later)
