Not have reached your 26th birthday as of July 1st of the award year

Not have participated in the program for more than 5 years (whether or not consecutive)

Must be enrolled in an accredited California university, law school, or college.

Recipient must be 18 years of age by the beginning of fall semester and a resident of California or attending a school in California.

Enrolled or accepted to a law school accredited by the ABA or the bar association of the state in which the school is located

From a community that is underrepresented in the practice of law

Is from or resides in Contra Costa or Alameda County or is interested in practicing law in either county after graduation

Demonstrates a commitment to excellence in academics

Student at any of the following schools who have completed their first year of law school and is currently enrolled for their second, third, or fourth year of law school.

• UC College of the Law, San Francisco
• University of San Francisco School of Law
• Santa Clara University School of Law
• University of California – Berkeley School of Law
• Stanford Law School
• Golden Gate University School of Law

Admitted to a Law School

Either from Orange County, CA (OC high school or community college graduates) OR for non-OC Latino students who are attending an OC Law School

Participated in college pre-law programs or clubs as well as worked or volunteered in a local Law Firm or public service agency and/or the Orange County Hispanic Bar Association.

Recent law school graduate or soon to graduate

Sitting for the upcoming Summer California Bar Exam

Intend to work in California

Demonstrate and document commitment to social justice and public service

Intend to pursue legal career in California after law school

Must have a San Francisco address and/or attend a school within one hundred miles of San Francisco

2L/3L

Must join Women Lawyers of Alameda County before submitting stipend application

Have already applied to take the July California Bar Exam

Not currently a member of any state bar

Intend to pursue a legal career

Applied for and/or received an offer for judicial clerkship/internship/externship.

Currently enrolled in a U.S. accredited law program.

Be starting or currently attending a technical school, college or university in pursuit of a certificate, associate’s, bachelor’s or graduate/professional degree

Received foster care, guardianship or adoption services from Casey Family Programs in Arizona, California, Idaho, Louisiana, Montana, North Dakota, Oklahoma, Oregon, South Dakota, Texas, Washington or Wyoming
