In their joint report, Student Debt: The Holistic Impact on Today’s Young Lawyer, AccessLex and the American Bar Association Young Lawyers Division described the impact of education debt on early career lawyers’ ability to achieve major and everyday life goals. The report revealed several insights for pre-law advisors and students, namely that many young lawyers did not have a clear understanding of the cost and debt associated with attending law school when they first enrolled. This session will share additional highlights from the student debt report as well as a forthcoming research brief on the availability and quality of information on institutional gift aid. Join us as we discuss the implications of these findings and brainstorm recommendations for better supporting pre-law students in anticipating and managing law school debt.
