The Weekend Prep Program will support college graduates of diverse and/or disadvantaged backgrounds in their pursuit of a law degree. Participants will receive resources on the law school admissions process, including a comprehensively designed LSAT Prep course, motivational and informational workshops, and individualized advisement. The program will last 24 weekends specifically targeting college graduates who work full-time and/or have family obligations, plus college seniors.

The Path to the Profession Initiative is a nine-week summer program that targets undergraduate students in their sophomore year through their enrollment into law school. The purpose of the program is to both facilitate the increased enrollment of minority and other traditionally underrepresented groups into an ABA approved law school, and to further the development of skills necessary for a successful law school experience once enrolled.

The Legal Education, Access, and Recognition (LEARN) Program provides students from underrepresented minority groups and economically disadvantaged backgrounds with tools to support law school matriculation including rigorous LSAT preparation, tutoring and access to materials to improve admission rates, review of personal statements and resumes, application preparation support, and practice interviewing, and mentorship.

The Summer Pre-Law Program (SPPARK) is a three-week residential summer program that will expose 25 undergraduate students to careers in the law and preparation for law school through LSAT preparation, academics, professional development, guest speakers, and field trips. The University of Hawai’i William S. Richardson School of Law received a grant to support the Ulu Lehua Scholars Program.  The Ulu Lehua Scholars Program supports a cohort of incoming J.D. students from diverse backgrounds who have overcome adversity and who show a commitment to work with underserved communities. Student participants receive financial, academic, and moral support throughout their law school careers. Grant funding will be used to expand recruitment efforts to rural communities in Hawaii and the Pacific, bolster academic support for participants through student tutors, provide financial and academic assistance in preparation for the bar exam, and conduct a comprehensive program assessment.

Since 2002, The IIT Chicago-Kent Prelaw Undergraduate Scholars (PLUS) program offers a three-week program for college students who are underrepresented in the legal profession. The three-week summer institute intends to: introduce participants to law school and the legal profession; provide participants with substantive skills to strengthen their preparation for law school; and educate and prepare participants for the law school application and admissions process. Grant funding will support efforts to improve and enhance program curriculum, engage first and second year college students and strengthen the program evaluation and assessment process.
