Taking the California Bar Exam is a major milestone, and AccessLex Institute wants to help. The 2027 AccessLex California Bar Exam Application Fee Sweepstakes gives California law school graduates planning to sit for the February or July 2027 California Bar Exam a chance to receive funding toward their application and laptop fees (a value of $1,031).

The Sweepstakes includes two separate Entry Periods and two separate drawings, one for the February 2027 exam and one for the July 2027 exam. Entrants must apply during the entry window tied to the exam they plan to take, as entries are valid only for that specific administration.

No purchase or payment is required to participate or win. Be sure to review the Official Rules before entering.

There are two Entry Periods and two corresponding drawings. Entries submitted during the first Entry Period do not roll over to the second Entry Period. Potential winners will be notified by email by Sponsor within 30 days of selection.

Entry Period: October 1, 2026–February 1, 2027 

Complete and submit the online entry form during the applicable Entry Period. You will be asked to provide required contact, law school, and bar exam information, and confirm that you meet the eligibility requirements. Please review the Official Rules for full eligibility requirements before entering. There is a limit of one entry per person per drawing Entry Period.

Potential winners will be selected at random from eligible entries received during the applicable Entry Period. Potential winners are subject to verification and are not considered winners unless and until eligibility has been confirmed and notification is complete.

If confirmed, the winner’s on-time California Bar Exam application and laptop fees for the applicable 2027 exam administration will be paid automatically when they submit their timely application for the California Bar Exam. Confirmed winners must complete all the steps required by the State Bar of California.

Note: No cash payment or reimbursement will be made to any winners; the prize will be applied directly toward eligible California Bar Exam application and laptop fees. The prize may not be transferred, redeemed for cash, or used for late fees, other exam administrations, the California Attorneys’ Examination, the First-Year Law Students’ Examination, or other California exam or admissions-related fees.
