2027 AccessLex California Bar Exam Application Fee Sweepstakes – Instructions for Winners

The 2027 AccessLex California Bar Exam Application Fee Sweepstakes is a random drawing sponsored by AccessLex Institute® to help selected eligible entrants cover the California Bar Exam application and laptop fees for the 2027 administrations of the California Bar Exam. 

As a Sweepstakes winner, please follow the instructions below to access your AccessLex California Bar Exam Application Fee Sweepstakes credit for the February 2027 California Bar Exam. Complete steps 1–4 no later than November 1, 2026:

  1. Log into the Applicant Portal.
  2. Click “View Forms” from the homepage.
  3. Select “California Bar Examination Application” and “Launch Application.”
  4. Complete the application and click “Submit” on the verification page.
    • A pop-up window will appear saying “Declaration” and “Confirmation” at the top. If the pop-up looks like this, sign and accept the declaration:

    • If the top of the pop-up window says “Declaration,” “Fee Page,” “Payment,” and “Confirmation,” do not proceed. Instead, click “Home” at the top of the screen to exit the application. Then, contact the Office of Admissions at [email protected] to ensure your winning sweepstakes value is credited to your application.
    • Please allow up to three business days to receive a response.
  5. After completing the declaration, you will see confirmation that your application has been submitted:

  6. Your application status will show “Pending Applicant” or "Pending Internal Review while the State Bar reviews your eligibility.”
    • You may be contacted for additional documentation or information, such as law school transcripts. Monitor your email and the Applicant Portal and respond promptly to any requests to avoid delays.
    • Once all requirements have been satisfied, your application status will be updated to “Approved” in the Applicant Portal.
