Demonstrated desire to work, live, and eventually practice law in Seattle or Portland

Academic achievements and record of leadership abilities, community service, and involvement in community issues will be taken into consideration

Full-time law student, in good standing, entering the second year of law school at an accredited ABA law school

Received and accepted an offer for a summer associate position after the second year of law school in one of our U.S. offices

Successful applicants graduated from a high school in the Philadelphia region (Bucks, Camden, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery, and Philadelphia counties) and are enrolled at an accredited college, graduate, or professional school in the United States; OR
graduated from a high school outside the region and are enrolled at an accredited college, graduate, or professional school in the Philadelphia region.

1L law student in good standing

Contribute to the diversity of the legal community

Demonstrate commitment to practicing law in Portland, Oregon

In good standing at any of the three law schools in Washington state

2L or 3L student attending an ABA-accredited law school.

Desire to practice law in the State of New Mexico.

Must submit an original five- to ten-page writing sample on any law topic.

Law student currently enrolled full-time in good standing at an ABA-accredited law school. 

Undergraduate, graduate, or professional degree

Veteran and active duty service members from all branches of the military including National Guard and Reserves who have served in pre- and post-9/11 service areas

Current spouses of veteran or active duty service members, including surviving spouses

Spouses, veterans and service members who apply must be a full-time student pursuing specific degrees at a public or private, U.S.-based, accredited institution (see website for more details)

Currently enrolled, full-time 1L law student in good standing at an accredited law school

Members of populations historically underrepresented in the legal profession are encouraged to apply

Attend an accredited, public or private U.S. college at the start of the academic year

Pursuing a graduate degree (Master’s, PhD, or Law School) in water law, water policy or public administration with a demonstrated concentration in the field of water resources

Commit to full-time enrollment (8 semester units or 10 quarter units) for the entire academic year

Must be pursuing or planning to pursue a full-time, post-secondary course of study in a degree program at a U.S. institution in the fall of the year of application (one scholarship may be given to a person employed full-time while attending school part-time)

Must be legally blind in both eyes. Must be residing in the U.S., the District of Columbia, or Puerto Rico

Must participate in the entire NFB National Convention and in all of its scheduled scholarship program activities (finalists will receive assistance to attend the national convention).

New Jersey resident students attending one of New Jersey’s three law schools (or a New Jersey resident attending Columbia Law School)
