Graduates with outstanding academic records from China’s universities (including universities in Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan)

Continuing education by pursuing advanced legal degrees at top-tier Chinese or foreign law schools (inclusive of J.D., LL.M. and LL.B. degrees in Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan and foreign law schools)

Intend to pursue a legal career in Mainland China after completing studies in China or abroad

Come from an immigrant family

Enrolled in an accredited law school in the U.S.

U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or DACA recipient

Strong academic record, minimum 3.0 GPA

Accepted at, or enrolled in, a full-time degree program at a U.S. or Canadian school that MPOWER supports (see scholarship provider website for listing of schools)

Be an international student allowed to legally study in the U.S. or Canada, including DACA, visa that allows studying in the U.S., and U.S. Permanent Resident (Green Card holder)

Demonstrated commitment to the advancement of women

Actively engaged in the Alameda County Legal Community

The student must be either a first or second generation immigrant living in the United States.

Family income must be considered to be low-income, with an annual household income of less than $50,000.

Currently enrolled in or accepted for admission to a college, university, or graduate program.

Must have a GPA of 4.0 or higher in their most recently completed academic semester.

Must be pursuing first master’s, professional or academic doctorate degree

Florida resident attending a Florida institution

Born in (or having a natural parent who was born in) either Mexico or a Hispanic country of the Caribbean, Central or South America (excludes Brazil, Spain, and Haiti), regardless of race

U.S. Citizen or eligible non-Citizen

Not owe a repayment or be in default under any state or federal grant, loan or scholarship program

Planning to attend full time at a college, university, trade school, business school, or any other institution of higher learning within the U.S. at the undergraduate or graduate school level in the Fall
