Capital City Lawyers Association will award two scholarships to deserving law students who demonstrate a commitment to practicing in the Triangle area and using their legal training and skills to benefit low-income and/or traditionally underserved communities.

The Cabaniss, Johnston Scholarship’s aim is to recognize and assist academically outstanding second-year law students who are also Alabama residents, and, further, to help promising law students become lawyers who will make a positive impact on society.

The Hawaii Pacific Gerontological Society (HPGS) raises funds and awards scholarships to college students interested in careers involving aging and older people. Each year, HPGS offers Undergraduate and Graduate Scholarships (funds permitting) for students enrolled in the University of Hawaii system, Hawaii Pacific University, Chaminade University, and Brigham Young University-Hawaii who have a serious interest in professional work related to aging, long-term care, and/or death and dying.

NCAWA provides scholarships to deserving female students attending the state’s law schools.  This award has been named in honor of retired Chief Justice Sarah Parker of the Supreme Court of North Carolina. 

The Wyrick Robbins Diversity Scholarship demonstrates our commitment to promoting diversity and inclusion within our firm and the legal profession by providing professional and financial support to law students at the outset of their legal careers.

Constangy’s Diversity Scholars Program recognizes law students who have demonstrated academic achievement; a commitment to diversity in their community, school or work environment; and personal achievements in overcoming challenges to reach goals.

The spouses of Congressional Black Caucus members created this scholarship to address the educational need in the congressional districts in response to federal cuts in spending for education programs and scholarships, which disproportionately affect people of color. This opportunity awards scholarships to academically talented and highly motivated African-American or Black students pursuing an undergraduate, graduate, or doctoral degrees in a variety of fields.

This foundation scholarship is directed at the next generation of women lawyers by supporting outstanding female Alabama residents in achieving their educational goals. Scholarship is both merit and financial need based.

The purpose of the scholarship fund is to provide assistance to residents and/or natives of Durham County who are attending law school, who can demonstrate a significant connection to the Durham community. Since its inception the scholarship program has enjoyed strong support from the Bar as a way of both recognizing and supporting such students.

The Wake County Bar Association Foundation has awarded scholarships to law students with Wake County ties since 1989. Scholarship funding has been sustained by events, private contributions and late fees from mandatory Tenth Judicial District Bar dues, but through reinvigorated funding campaigns, the WCBA Foundation hopes to focus our efforts to create a more sustainable and robust scholarship program. All rising 2L and 3L law students with connections to Wake County, NC are invited to apply.
