The Will County Bar Association in collaboration with the Black Bar Association of Will County, Latino Bar Association of Will County, Will County Women’s Bar Association and Spesia & Taylor Attorneys at Law is pleased to announce applications are currently being accepted for the Will County Legal Opportunity Scholarship Program. The purpose of this Program is to encourage diversity within the Will County legal community by awarding a scholarship to an incoming first year Black or Latino Law Student.

This law firm fellowship is geared toward diverse, minority, or underrepresented law students and includes both a 12-week summer associate position and an academic scholarship to be remitted directly to the student’s law school at the beginning of the school year following the summer clerkship. Rising 2Ls with academic and leadership achievements seeking to practice law at Latham U.S. offices, who have demonstrated commitment to promoting inclusion and diversity in the legal profession and have overcome adversity to advance their career objectives should explore this scholarship.

Animal Legal Defense Fund Advancement's scholarships are available to law student members based upon demonstrated commitment to Animal Legal Defense Fund’s mission, “to protect the lives and advance the interests of animals through the legal system."

Scholarship awards will go to law student or recent graduates who have demonstrated commitment to improve the legal and social standing of the LGBTQ community, including LGBTQ individuals.

The Trial LawHER Scholarship was created to help a rising 3L female law student achieve her goal of becoming a plaintiff trial lawyer. This scholarship intends to elevate a rising woman leader in the plaintiff trial lawyer space and educate future trial lawyers around the importance and impact of settlement planning.

The LMJ Scholarship is a diversity pipeline program that seeks to nurture the academic and professional careers of outstanding law students. The scholarship is open to women and diverse students who have: been accepted to an ABA-accredited law school on a full-time basis; an outstanding or promising academic record; an interest in corporate law; demonstrated community service and leadership qualities; a financial need; and a commitment to diversity, inclusion, and equity.
