The Will County Bar Association in collaboration with the Black Bar Association of Will County, Latino Bar Association of Will County, Will County Women’s Bar Association and Spesia & Taylor Attorneys at Law is pleased to announce applications are currently being accepted for the Will County Legal Opportunity Scholarship Program. The purpose of this Program is to encourage diversity within the Will County legal community by awarding a scholarship to an incoming first year Black or Latino Law Student.

The Illinois Judges Foundation awards the Harold Sullivan Scholarship to one or more students attending an Illinois law school.

This scholarship will help two underrepresented students break down the barriers of higher education, accomplish their educational goals, and prepare them for a future in law.

The goal of this scholarship is part of the firm's efforts to increase diversity as well as increase diversity in the legal profession.

This scholarship is committed to help the advancement of Hispanic students attending a law school in Connecticut and western Massachusetts.

This scholarship is a one-time award to a second-year law student attending an Illinois Law School. It is named for the Hon. William Stewart Boyd, who has spent more than two decades as an Associate Judge for the Cook County Circuit Court, and who has agreed to mentor the scholarship winners.

Scholarships are available to all second- and third-year full-time/day and all third and fourth-year part-time/evening students with a keen interest in Italian culture and history from any of the Illinois law schools. Merit and financial need will be taken into consideration.

Offered to a second- or third-year law student, of Hellenic descent, from Illinois or enrolled in an Illinois law school

This scholarship seeks to award a deserving student who has either served in the armed forces or is the child of a veteran.

This foundation scholarship is directed at diverse and deserving law students. Participation and leadership in supporting diversity-related programs as well as merit and financial need will be considered.

This scholarship will be awarded to a student who can provide real-life examples of how they are making a difference in their community.

Scholarship is awarded to a law student who has demonstrated their leadership skills and used those skills to help achieve diversity inclusion within the legal community.

This scholarship will be awarded to a law student who is interested in pursuing a career in public service or a student who is actively involved with a not-for-profit agency that represents the needy and the underprivileged.

As part of an ongoing commitment to promote inclusion and diversity within the legal profession, Adler Pollock and Sheehan offers The Honorable Walter R. Stone Excellence Fellowship. The fellowship also provides a Summer Associate position.

Scholarship is for students who are attending an undergraduate, J.D., LL.B., or LL.M. program at a college, university, or law school in the U.S.

This is a rotating scholarship between the six-Chicago area law schools. Each school selects its own recipient.

A one-year fellowship provided to highly talented graduate students in New England and California whose studies and career goals are directed toward environmental improvement and who clearly demonstrate leadership in their field.

This scholarship is available for 1L students who are making a difference in the Hispanic Community.

Must be a qualified 1L student at an ABA-accredited law school and must possess a diverse background, a technical degree in science or engineering, and a commitment to pursuing a patent law career in Chicago to apply for this summer associates program.

Constangy’s Diversity Scholars Program recognizes law students who have demonstrated academic achievement; a commitment to diversity in their community, school or work environment; and personal achievements in overcoming challenges to reach goals.

The Fletcher “Flash” Wiley Award seeks to support the development of students who, like Past MBLA President Fletcher “Flash” Wiley, display academic and professional excellence, exhibit a commitment to diversity and inclusion through leadership and volunteerism, and demonstrate a conviction to “lift as they climb.”

The Honorable Chief Justice Roderick L. Ireland Leadership and Juvenile Advocacy Award seeks to support the development of students who have exhibited a commitment to developing strong leadership skills and a passion for juvenile advocacy. In his honor, the MBLA established this annual award for such students who have demonstrated their commitment to juvenile justice and who have exhibited outstanding leadership.

This education trust scholarship is geared to provide support to Jewish students, born and raised in the Chicago Metropolitan area. The trust's mission is to actively promote excellence in legal education and to encourage the most scholastically qualified students to remain or return to Chicago area to practice law. The primary criteria for the award are career promise and financial need.

Talented law students who have secured a volunteer internship with a qualified nonprofit organization in Massachusetts and demonstrate a commitment to public interest law are encouraged to apply for this fellowship program.

The Water S. Barr Fellowship is awarded to students pursuing a specific post-graduate degree. If the degree program requires more than one year of full-time study, the award can be renewed for up to two additional years.

The Black Women Lawyers’ Association Scholarship Fund (BWLA-SF) endeavors to encourage African-American women in the law through support in their legal education and to promote diversity in the legal profession.

The spouses of Congressional Black Caucus members created this scholarship to address the educational need in the congressional districts in response to federal cuts in spending for education programs and scholarships, which disproportionately affect people of color. This opportunity awards scholarships to academically talented and highly motivated African-American or Black students pursuing an undergraduate, graduate, or doctoral degrees in a variety of fields.

The Bohemian Lawyers' Scholarship Fund was established to provide financial assistance to law students of Czech, Moravian, Ruthenian, Silesian, or Slovac ancestry in the Chicagoland area.

This foundation scholarship is geared to law students who reside in Northampton, MA. In addition to the residency requirement, this is also a merit and need-based scholarship.

This foundation scholarship is geared to law students who reside in Hampden County. In addition to the residency requirement, this is also a merit and need-based scholarship.

The SCWLF awards $5,000 scholarships to African-American female law students who have committed to careers as prosecutors. For these future prosecutors the Scholarship program covers the cost of the bar application and preparation up to $5,000. The Scholarship program also offers a $5,000 incentive for scholarship recipients who secure employment as prosecutors. 

This association scholarship is open to Black students who have overcome adversity to use their outstanding academic ability and skills in public service. Financial need is not a requirement. Interview is required and two letters of recommendation.

The scholarship will be awarded to one current second, third or fourth-year law student to defray the costs associated with law school, such as tuition, fees, books, and similar school-related expenses.

The NWSBA Foundation is honored to recognize Judge Timothy C. Evans’ contribution to the legal community through The Honorable Timothy C. Evans Scholarship.

This association scholarship is open to all first, second-, and third year women law students who have a DuPage county connection and are enrolled in an accredited law school in Illinois. Merit and financial need will be taken into consideration.

Asian American law students who demonstrate leadership potential, commitment to Asian American community and personal, professional or academic excellence should consider this scholarship. Priority consideration will be given to law students who have secured a public interest position for the summer.
